Daun pandan biasanya diperah/digiling/ditumbuk/dikisar halus bagi mendapatkan air/patinya. Warna hijau itu datang dari klorofil daun sebagai pewarna asli.
Pokok pandan adalah sejenis pokok tropika dan hidup subur di negara Laut Cina Selatan. Berwarna hijau dan mudah tumbuh di atas tanah ataupun didalam pasu. Nama saintifiknya adalah "Pandanus amaryllifolius" dari keluarga "Pandanus".
Di bawah adalah rupa bentuk pokok pandan. Awas! Hanya bahagian daun sahaja yang digunakan! :)

Kita mungkin biasa terlihat daun pandan biasa digunakan didalam masakan seperti berikut:
- Disimpul di dalam periuk nasi lemak sebagai penyedap makanan
- Sebagai alat/bekas/tapak kepada kuih tepung pelita
- Pewarna dalam cendol
- Pewangi asli dalam bunga rampai di majlis perkahwinan tradisi melayu

Pandan leaves are usually squeezed / milled / pounded for water / filnely grounded. The green color comes from the leaf chlorophyll as the original dye.
Pandan tree is a kind of tropical tree and lush life in the South China Sea state. Green and easy to grow on the ground or in pots. Its scientific name is "Pandanus amaryllifolius" from the "Pandanus" family.
Below is a look of pandanus. Watch out! Only leaves are used! :)
We may be familiar with pandanus commonly used in dishes as follows:
- Assembled in a nasi lemak dish as a food flavor
- As a tool / container / site to a light flour lamp
- Dye in cendol
- Original fragrance in a flower pot at a Malay wedding ceremony
When you see this pandan leaf in the dishes / food, do not eat it! : D
